  1. Create a free alwaysdata accountCrée un compte alwaysdata gratuit

    Choose your own name: it becomes your Atlas’s address, like camille.alwaysdata.net. Common names such as “atlas” are already taken: your first name or a nickname works best.

    Choisis ton propre nom : il devient l’adresse de ton Atlas, comme camille.alwaysdata.net. Les noms courants comme « atlas » sont déjà pris : ton prénom ou un surnom, c’est le mieux.

    The free plan is for personal use: 1 GB, no card. Sign in to alwaysdata at least every 120 days the first year (then every six months), or the account is suspended.

    L’offre gratuite est pour un usage personnel : 1 Go, sans carte. Connecte-toi à alwaysdata au moins tous les 120 jours la première année (puis tous les six mois), sinon le compte est suspendu.

  2. Add Atlas to your alwaysdataAjoute Atlas à ton alwaysdata

    Atlas isn’t in alwaysdata’s catalogue: you add it yourself, once: in alwaysdata, Web › Sites › Install an application › My application scripts › Add an application script, then fill in the form with these values.

    Atlas n’est pas dans le catalogue d’alwaysdata : tu l’y ajoutes toi-même, une seule fois : dans alwaysdata, Web › Sites › Installer une application › Mes scripts d’application › Ajouter un script d’application, puis remplis le formulaire avec ces valeurs.

    Leave the other fields empty and Public application unticked, then Submit. Atlas then updates from Atlas itself, in Settings › About.

    Laisse les autres champs vides et Application publique décochée, puis Valider. Atlas se met ensuite à jour depuis Atlas même, dans Paramètres › À propos.

  3. Install AtlasInstalle Atlas

    In Web › Sites › Install an application, Atlas Mind now heads the list: click it. alwaysdata opens a form: your language, your email, and a password of 8 characters or more; if you like, a name shown before “Atlas” and a line under the logo. For the address, keep your-name.alwaysdata.net.

    Dans Web › Sites › Installer une application, Atlas Mind est maintenant en tête de liste : clique dessus. alwaysdata ouvre un formulaire : ta langue, ton email, et un mot de passe de 8 caractères ou plus ; si tu veux, un nom affiché avant « Atlas » et une phrase sous le logo. Pour l’adresse, garde ton-nom.alwaysdata.net.

  4. Open itOuvre-le

    About a minute later, go to your-name.alwaysdata.net and sign in with that email and password. Your Atlas is ready, with a first note to get you going.

    Une minute plus tard environ, va sur ton-nom.alwaysdata.net et connecte-toi avec cet email et ce mot de passe. Ton Atlas est prêt, avec une première note pour démarrer.

  5. Connect ClaudeBranche Claude

    On the home page, Add to Claude opens claude.ai with your Atlas filled in. Accept, and Claude reads and writes your notes, in every conversation. Claude’s free plan allows one connector: Atlas will be that one.

    Sur l’accueil, Ajouter à Claude ouvre claude.ai avec ton Atlas déjà rempli. Accepte, et Claude lit et écrit tes notes, dans toutes tes conversations. L’offre gratuite de Claude permet un connecteur : Atlas sera celui-là.

  6. Keep a copy that is yoursGarde une copie à toi

    In Settings › My Atlas: a copy on your own GitHub, updated by itself at every change; a copy on your computer; and a full backup to download. If the instance is ever lost, Restore brings everything back on a new one.

    Dans Paramètres › Mon Atlas : une copie sur ton propre GitHub, mise à jour toute seule à chaque modification ; une copie sur ton ordinateur ; et une sauvegarde complète à télécharger. Si l’instance se perd un jour, Restaurer remet tout en place sur une nouvelle.

  7. Put it on your phoneMets-le sur ton téléphone

    Settings › My Atlas › On your phone: point your phone’s camera at the code, then “Add to Home screen”. Atlas opens like an app, and on Android you can share a link from any app straight into it.

    Paramètres › Mon Atlas › Sur ton téléphone : vise le code avec l’appareil photo, puis « Ajouter à l’écran d’accueil ». Atlas s’ouvre comme une application, et sur Android tu peux y partager un lien depuis n’importe quelle appli.

Who can read my notes?Qui peut lire mes notes ?

You, and the people you invite: a new note is private by default. Like any hosted service, whoever runs the server (here alwaysdata) technically has access to its disk. Your copy on GitHub or on your computer is yours alone.

Toi, et les personnes que tu invites : une nouvelle note est privée par défaut. Comme pour tout service hébergé, qui fait tourner le serveur (ici alwaysdata) a techniquement accès à son disque. Ta copie sur GitHub ou sur ton ordinateur n’appartient qu’à toi.

Download my notes gives you a zip of ordinary files, readable in any text editor, Obsidian or VS Code, with their whole history.

No. Atlas is free and open source, alwaysdata’s free plan asks for no card, and Claude’s free plan is enough to connect it.
